“Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid only of standing still.” Chinese proverb
Want a chance to start the year again? With the Lunar New Year or Chinese New Year, you can! Happy New Year! Today is the start of the Year of the Earth Boar 2019. Whether you believe in this calendar system, astrology or culture (one of many that celebrate), why is this important? Here are some thoughts on what I shared about preparing for the ‘other’ New Year here.
As you may have noticed, I might look Asian (but not sure which), Hawaiian or most may not notice me at all! That’s not important but being open-minded is. Be open to other belief systems, cultures, rituals and energies so that you can benefit from it. Why not tap into the Lunar New Year and learn, grow from something that might resonate with you? Great excuse to eat your favourite Chinese, Korean or Vietnamese foods!
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” Lau Tzu
How does this blog relate to goodlifesleep and the Power of SHE: Sleep, Health. Energy you ask? The journey of my health has been a continuous process of transformation, understanding and letting go. The journey to success has many definitions but without my health, I burned out. Big time! I didn’t know what I didn’t know and thought success was hard work, taking care of everyone’s needs first (like the bully boss) and health was eating better and exercise. What does mental, emotional and spiritual health have to do with anything?
My WHY, my intention since my ‘waking up’ is to help you discover transformation yourself, to wake up to your highest potential, to let go of everything that doesn’t serve your highest purpose and I believe this process starts with Sleep. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Tai Chi & Qigong and Feng Shui is one modality, one perspective I bring into my mission to inspire a good life through Sleep, Health & Energy. Take the first step with me!
Ok, if you’re new to this, join my goodnews newsletter and I’ll share more details, stories from others and practical tools along the way. Meanwhile, try these 3 practices to start NEW again!
- Do one thing in the next 15 days in the area of your financial wellbeing (the first 15 days of this New Year can set the tone for the rest of this year)!
- Make a commitment (not a resolution) to getting a bit more rest and sleep, even 15 minutes more counts!
- Write down or journal ideas that inspire you for this year. Winter is the time for deep reflection, creativity and dreaming. Come up with one big idea for this year and share it with others!
