What does Spring mean to you?

It’s finally here! Not only is it the Spring Equinox(and Autumn Equinox to my friends in the Southern Hemisphere) on the Gregorian calendar, it’s also a Super Full Moon this Wednesday which is a powerful time to expand your potential and manifest your goals.

 

 

The reason I mention the type of calendar is because I work with the Chinese 5 elements calendar which works with the idea of 5 seasons and we are already 2-3 weeks into Spring.

This is the best time to ‘plant the seeds’ of the ideas you’ve created during the winter months. Your energy and the energy of nature is rising so what ideas are you ready to plant? Each season has specific energies that can help you on many levels!

I always dreamed to become a teacher and becoming a coach has led me closer to realizing this. My mother has been a teacher for over 40 years and still teaches me things (although not always easy to accept) about how I want to live my own life. As a designer for over 25 years, I wanted to teach design so that design could be a tool to design a better world and a better life.

I moved to London in 1999 and wanted to attend the Royal College of Art for my Masters. At first I struggled to even survive in one of the most expensive cities in the world then life ‘got in the way’ and I took on the ‘responsibility’ of having a job and soon my dreams faded, at least for a while.

Although I followed and learned from all my favorite designers, attended some incredible design events and continue to practice ‘design thinking’, I realized that after all these years that my true purpose wasn’t actually design but it still was about helping others.

From being self-taught in ENVIRONMENTAL sustainability and how design can impact positively on our world, I now focus on PERSONAL sustainability because I learned the most difficult way that without my health, I couldn’t help anyone!

If I am to become a leader  and be successful at helping others realize that sleep is the key to realizing our highest potential and wellbeing then I must take care of myself first!

So Spring is here and I’ve been wanting to take this Neuroscience Academy course for 2 years and now is the right time!  What about you? What have you been wanting to change or start new this year? Spring is actually a great time to ‘refresh’ your brain and considering it was Brain Awareness week last week, I’m investing in myself, my own brain and wellbeing.

In the end, I want to give YOU more value, science and evidence-based knowledge that can help you live your life at even a higher level with your brain, your body and your spirit.

If there is one thing I’ve learned in both my design career and now my new path as a coach and soon to be teacher (stay tuned), I would say that investing in yourself, in your own personal development and wellbeing is key!

This is something no one can take away from you, this will help you develop your skills and experiences that you can apply to whatever you do, whatever your dreams are. It’s time to plant those seeds!
